The first thing you notice is how incredibly light it feels, with each shoe weighing under 206g in size 9. For me, a weight around 200g offers the perfect balance of comfort and confidence. The upper is made of a single layer of breathable mesh, which is thin and features plenty of open mesh panels for excellent ventilation. The tongue is also lightweight and consists of just one layer of suede, perfectly fitting the ankle and providing a secure feel. There's an anti skid tying system in the center of the tongue, which is actually not very effective for preventing lateral movement if it's placed centrally. A more effective design would be a slightly offset anti skid hole towards the outer side. The midsole uses DNA FLASH technology, which is Brooks' first innovation to incorporate nitrogen into the sole. This technology relies on supercritical fluid foaming to convert liquid nitrogen into gas nitrogen evenly and form countless tightly packed air sac structures.
